PORTRAIT PAINTING WORKSHOPS with Paul Leveille                                                  

These workshops are for you if you've been looking for renewed enthusiasm, joy, excitement, and progress in painting portraits. Get ready to take a learning leap forward in portrait painting. Students may choose to work in oil, pastel or watercolor while emphasis is placed on how to paint the human head, in the simplest terms, to achieve a three dimensional quality... how to paint what we see rather than what we think we know.

During his demonstrations, Paul reveals how he concentrates on the big light and dark shapes rather than line, and his step-by-step approach towards achieving a dynamic portrait in the alla prima style. Between demonstrations students will paint from live models and receive individual instruction and guidance at their easels.

 Luzerne County Community College in Pennsylvania hosted a one-day workshop and demo.  Paul did an Oil demonstration of "Betsy" .  Here are a couple of photos from the workshop.

 Paul was the guest artist for the Wyoming Valley Art League's Annual Dinner.   After a lovely dinner, he completed a pastel demo for a very lively group.  The demo "Top Hat" is featured.  Many thanks to Joe, his model.  The group also hosted a one-day workshop the next day.
